A National leader within the insurance industry recently engaged E7 for a cloud “migration and transformation.” They are an excess and surplus lines insurance firm specializing in property, casualty, and specialty risks. They have the flexibility to work with clients that have poor loss histories, high risk venues, and new or high-hazard operations. They operated in all fifty states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

As is the case for many organizations in the insurance space, making the move to Atlassian’s cloud can be challenging and overwhelming. Lack of technical expertise, product knowledge, competing internal priorities and initiatives, and day-to-day business take teams away from a success journey to the cloud.

With a desire to migrate to cloud well ahead of the February 2024 server end-of-life deadline so they wouldn’t feel the pressure of that looming date, the organization was looking for a partner who was not only experienced, but who would ensure the project was seamless, streamlined and provided minimal disruption to users and support staff.

This is exactly what E7 brings to the table. Our team was off and running quickly assessing data, applications, and integrations along with the client’s top priorities. E7 then developed a formal plan, executed a test migration, and began preparing for a production migration date.

What went well with this engagement was E7’s responsiveness and collaboration, speed resolving any issues that came up prior to launch, and migrating on a weekday versus a weekend was great for our team!

Client Project Manager

Utilizing their expertise in the marketplace, E7 was able to quickly escalate and overcome an issue with the client’s GIT integration identified during the test migration. E7’s attention to detail and thorough processes allowed the client and their teams to avoid such issues during the actual migration, and E7’s timeliness in addressing the issue pre-migration ensured the project timeline was intact.

With the production migration completed during business hours and on a weekday, before the client knew it their Atlassian products were migrated to the cloud ready to use in September 2023, 5 months prior to the server end-of-life deadline.

Not only was this migration completed quickly and efficiently, but the organization’s end users also experienced a seamless transition from a day-to-day usability standpoint and reported little to no issues in the initial days of using the new cloud products.

In addition, the team estimated a ROI of roughly $980k over a period of 3-years. This was achieved through elimination of hosting costs, reallocation of server administrators, and overall productivity gains for the end users.

This is just one the many server-to-cloud migrations E7 has completed over the past years, and it shows why putting your trust in a partner who has the experience, resources, and proven process can be the right move for your organization.
